MISSION STATEMENT

To improve the quality of life for all residents of Lewis County by providing premiere facilities, programs, equipment, and staff to meet the needs of all community members, including children, youth “at potential”, athletes, families, adults, people with disabilities, and senior citizens. Creating “something for everyone” to actively participate and be physically active will be a constant goal for the facility. It is also our mission to fully meet the fitness and enrichment educational needs of our members, while generating revenue to support and remain a valued resource in the community. Double Play is determined to host community events and to collaborate with other community agencies as often as possible. Likewise, Double Play Community Center will be dedicated to providing support for youth and adults by creating healthy family activities and offering new, exciting services to the community. Our purpose is to bring a better quality of life for all those who reside here in the North Country and those who come to visit.

 

CODE OF CONDUCT

Double Play Sports expects you to observe basic rules of conduct. In the community center, as in any group, rules are necessary. These rules apply to all. They list certain practices, which cannot be tolerated; however they are not all inclusive. Common sense, what is reasonable under the circumstances, will be used as the guideline in all cases. The protection of our members and guests participating in our programs and/or using our facilities is a paramount interest of Double Play Sports. Double Play Sports reserves the right to deny access or membership to any person who has been convicted of any crime involving sexual misconduct; is a registered sex offender; habitually or excessively uses narcotics or dangerous drugs; has ever been convicted of any offense relating to the use, sale, possession, or transportation of narcotics or habit forming and/or dangerous drugs; or continuously or excessively use intoxicating beverages.

One of the main goals of Double Play Sports Community Center is to encourage exercise and good health among children and adults. To achieve this goal, each child and adult must feel comfortable at our community center. These policies are subject to change. The Director determines interpretation and enforcement of these policies. Appeals of the Director’s decision can be made to the Membership Committee in writing.

We at Double Play Community Center appreciate your attendance at our events and programs. Providing a safe and fun environment is our number one goal. Therefore, abusive behavior toward players, coaches, officials, or fans will not be tolerated at anytime during our events. Remain positive while playing at your highest level of performance. 

VISION STATEMENT

In order to improve the overall quality of life in Lewis County to the extent that we desire, our goal is to build an all-encompassing community facility that will include all of our programs, services and facilities under one roof. We want to merge our Fitness Center, Senior & Teen Center and all other programs to one large facility that the community can share. We are constantly striving to improve and would eventually like to grow and expand our programs and services to include classrooms, a multi-purpose field, therapy offices, a full kitchen, dance and art studios and more!

FACILITY USAGE POLICY

Members are expected to follow posted facility rules and notices while at Double Play Sports Community Center.

 

DOUBLE PLAY SPORTS COMMUNITY CENTER POLICY

All of the acts below are prohibited:

  • Verbal Abuse: Profane language, racial, ethnic or cultural slurs
  • Psychological Abuse: Intimidation, attacking another’s self-esteem and/or threats to another person.
  • Sexual Harassment: Verbal or physical
  • Physical Violence: All forms; including consented acts of perceived violence

 

ENFORCEMENT

Anyone containing ANY of the above referenced acts will be subject to sanctions including, but not limited to, the following:

  1. Removal from the Double Play Sports Community Center facility
  2. Suspension of up to one year from the facility
  3. Suspension of up to one year from participation or attendance in all DPSCC sponsored programs and functions
  4. Termination of membership, privileges, or employment with the DOUBLE PLAY SPORTS COMMUNITY CENTER ALCOHOL, DRUG & TOBACCO USE

Alcohol, drug and tobacco possession or use is not permitted on Double Play grounds or during programs as we promote healthy lifestyles. Persons suspected of being under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be asked to leave Double Play Community Center property.

We are grateful for your donation and support of our organization. If you have made an error in making your donation or change your mind about contributing to our organization please contact us. Refunds are returned using the original method of payment. If you made your donation by credit card, your refund will be credited to that same credit card.
